If you’re looking for a great family treat, look no further.Honey buns, Is there anything better? No. No, there isn’t. If you’re like most people, I’m sure you have many memories of eating these delicious treats, whether they were homemade, or more likely, purchased in the store. Honey buns are both a food and a brand, and in either case, they are so delicious.
1、Ingredients:
- Bread flour: 250g
- Milk: 120g
- Sugar: 40g
- Butter: 30g
- Yeast: 3g
- Honey: 20g
- Water: 20g
- Sesame seeds: 20g
- Sugar (for topping): 20g

2、Instructions:
- Combine bread flour, milk, sugar, butter, and yeast. Knead into a dough and let it rise for 1 hour. Don’t worry if you can’t knead until the dough passes the “windowpane test.” It’s fine as long as it forms a dough.
- Mix honey and water to make honey water. Combine sesame seeds and sugar for the topping and set aside.
- Take the risen dough and knead it gently to remove air. Divide it into 8 portions. Roll each piece into an oval shape, then roll it up from top to bottom like a log. Seal the ends and cut each log into two pieces.
- Dip the cut ends of each piece in honey water, then coat them with the sesame sugar mixture. Place them in an air fryer.
- Let the dough rest for another 20 minutes in the air fryer. Bake at 140°C (284°F) for 15 minutes, then flip and bake for another 10 minutes. Adjust the time based on your air fryer. For an added touch, brush a layer of honey water over the buns after baking for extra shine and flavor.

Tips:
- Baking time may vary depending on your air fryer. Make sure the buns are evenly colored.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can use an oven. Adjust the time and temperature accordingly.
3、Dough Kneading Tips:
If the dough feels tight while kneading, let it rest for a few minutes before continuing to knead.
Check if the dough is kneaded properly using the “windowpane” test: Take a piece of dough about the size of a golf ball and gently stretch it. If the dough is kneaded well, it will be elastic and form a thin film through which you can see light. If the dough is not kneaded enough or has been over-kneaded, it will tear.
One advantage of kneading dough by hand is that it is less likely you will over-knead it.
Enjoy making and savoring your homemade honey buns!
